Only a week after the IAF agreed to re-admit Air Vice-Marshal Harish Masand into its ranks as an Air Marshal, but with no work, the Supreme Court today expressed its dissatisfaction with the offer and said the Force needed to reconsider.
On February 21, the IAF had said it would take Masand back into its ranks as an Air Marshal in a supernumerary position — full pay and benefits, but with no appointment. Masand had sued the Government in 2004 for being denied a promotion to the Air Marshal rank by the 2003 promotion board.
