With the Lok Sabha elections not far away, UPA Chairperson Sonia Gandhi on Thursday said all the unfulfilled promises have to be met in the last year of the Congress-led coalition in office.

“It is the last year of the UPA. Next year is going to be decisive. The unfulfilled promises in the National Common Minimum Programme (NCMP) have to be met,” Gandhi said at a function to mark the fourth year of the UPA in power.

With the Assembly elections in a number of states and the Lok Sabha elections next year weighing heavily on her mind, the Congress President said it was important to make the people aware of the achievements of the Government in various fields.

The function at Prime Minister Manmohan Singh’s residence was attended by leaders of coalition partners and a number of ministers and MPs.
