LONDON, FEBRUARY 16: Indian workers in great britain have protested against the proposed 10,000 pound bond scheme for short term visitors to britain from India, Pakistan and Bangladesh.

Scores of demonstrators of Indian workers’ associationraised slogans against the scheme in front of the home office yesterday, describing it as disciminatory and uncalled for.

Minister of state for foreign and commonwealth affairskeith vaz said "no decision has been taken on the locations of the Pilot project and there is no question of the scheme discriminating against anyone".

The Indian government had reacted sharply to the British proposal saying any new rule or guideline adopted by a country should be implemented across the board ona non-discriminatory basis for citizens of all countries. India also reserved the right to take "reciprocal action" if such rules and guidelines were instituted.
