MUMBAI, MARCH 9: The Bombay High Court will take up for hearing on March 14, 2000, a bail application moved by former state minister Udayanraje Bhonsle who is in the Satara jail facing charges for the murder of NCP activist Sharad Levhe.
Bhonsle, 13th descendent of Shivaji and BJP candidate for the last Assembly elections, has been in the Satara Civil Hospital complaining of various ailments ever since he was arrested on September 11, 1999. While the Satara sessions court had rejected his bail application, the former minister, who was arrested along with 14 others, has claimed medical reasons for seeking bail in the high court application.
When the matter came up today, the bench of Justice T K Chandrashekhara Das directed the State to file an affidavit on the application, asking the Government to give details about the illnesses Bhonsle was suffering from.
