Uberoi sisters Shikha and Neha Thursday night earned their biggest moment at the $ 145,000 Estoril Open.Making it to the main draw as qualifiers, the Uberoi’s recorded their best ever victory of their careers and thus made it to the semi-finals at the expense of fourth seeds Eleni Daniilidou (Greece) and Jasmin Woehr (Germany) 4-6, 6-4, 6-3, according to information reaching here. The Uberois thus exacted revenge. They had lost to the duo at the US Open in straight sets last year. The sisters who made waves last year by finishing runners-up in back-to-back events at Kolkata and Guangzhou - both Tier-III events - for the first time registered a win over a 102-ranked opponent. The best win so far was against Chuang C (Chinese Taipei) and R Fujiwara (Japan) in Kolkata last year.Against the Greek-German combine in Portugal the Uberoi’s twice rallied from sticky situations. The first was when they trailed 1-5 and managed to win the next six and in the second instance they went on to save two match-points. Victory helped them set up a semi-final clash with Olympic champions and No. 2 seeds Ting Li (Sr)/Tiantian Sun (China) who had a tough time winning their last-eight tie in two hours and 12 minutes.
