Kimberley, October 28: A record third-wicket partnership for New Zealand against South Africa of 110 between Roger Twose (89) and Stephen Fleming (85) lifted the Kiwis to 287 for six in their 50 overs in the fourth one-day international today.

The left-handed duo took just 118 balls to put together the stand after Fleming had shared a second-wicket partnership of 93 with opener Chris Nevin, who made 68, including eight fours and a six for his second half-century in one-day internationals. Fleming played the anchor role as first Nevin and then Twose, who made his score off 91 balls, kept the scoreboard ticking over from the other end.

Despite including a run of 20 consecutive singles, Fleming’s 50 still took just 70 balls and in the remainder of his knock he moved to 85 in another 33 balls.
