Two suspects had been arrested on Monday, and two on Tuesday.
Police allege that the Students Islamic Movement of India (SIMI) had instigated them to attack anyone who tried to prevent the entry of cows for slaughter into the city.
The police had raided some houses in the Juhapura area and picked up Mohammed Ilyas Boharia and Ayubkhan Pathan.
The two suspects arrested by the police on Tuesday were remanded in six days’ police custody by a local court on Wednesday.
Inspector J.L. Jadeja, who is investigating the case, submitted to the court that SIMI office-bearers had convened a meeting on Saturday and instigated the youths. He also submitted that these office-bearers had created disturbance during a recent meeting of a Hindu-Muslim Ekta Samiti.
The crime branch has also identified the area where a loading rickshaw driver, Bakhtawar Khan, was stabbed to death. Sources said that Khan was accosted by some persons at Mithakhali Teen Rasta in the Paldi area. They asked him to take some goods in his vehicle and later stabbed him.
Police said that in order to escape, the rickshaw driver fled the spot on his vehicle but slumped near NID triangle and died. Sources said that police are hopeful of identifying the killers.
The situation in the sensitive areas remained under control and no untoward incident was reported from any part of the city on Wednesday. Police bandobast in sensitive areas continued on the third day while more antisocials were booked in several parts.
