Two more die in hospital, Uri blast toll reaches 11

Two more people died of injuries sustained in the attack on the People’s Democratic Party rally at Uri in Baramulla district, taking the death toll to 11 on Friday. Nine people were killed when militants hurled a grenade at the pdp rally, near the LoC in north Kashmir on Thursday. In Baramulla, police on Friday detained Democratic Freedom Party chief Shabir Ahmad Shah while he was campaigning for boycott of the polls in Pattan, 27 km from Srinagar. Shah and his six associates were taken into preventive custody by police at Pattan, 27 km from here, when they were en route Baramulla. Shah has been detained for the third time. —(PTI)
