Suspected ULFA militants on Friday triggered a bomb blast near the busy Adabari bus terminus in the heart of this city, killing two persons and injuring 10 others. Police said the bomb was concealed in a vegetable basket that exploded at a market adjacent to the bus terminus, where hundreds of people were present. The injured were rushed to the Gauhati Medical College Hospital.
This was the second such attack by the ULFA, whose cadres planted a bomb in the busy Ganeshguri area on January 17, killing three people and injuring 26 others. In that attack too, the bomb was hidden in a vegetable basket.
