KHARAR, MAY 1: The Kharar police have arrested two persons for allegedly kidnapping three-year-old Gullu Pandey alias Avinash Kumar and booked them under Section 363 of IPC.
According to Station House Officer (SHO) Jasdev Singh, Dinesh Kumar and Sugesh Kumar, both residents of Balongi village, have been booked on the complaint of Suresh Kumar, father of Gullu Pandey.
The SHO stated that the accused had kidnapped the child with an intention to sell him but the police received a tip-off and rescued the child.
Earlier, Suresh Kumar, also a resident of Balongi village, had demanded registration of a case against the kidnappers. In a memorandum sent to Punjab Director General of Police, Roopnager Senior Superintendent of Police and Kharar SHO, he had alleged that Dinesh Kumar along with Sugesh Kumar had kidnapped his son at about 9 am on April 24 from the house.
Suresh Kumar also alleged that the kidnappers demanded Rs 50,000 as ransom to release his son and threatened to kill his son in case of failure to pay the ransom.
