CHANDIGARH, April 20: The Chandigarh Police will organise a two-day seminar on 50 years of policing in the post-independence era on May 7 and May 8, in the city.
A senior police official said that the seminar: "Indian police during 50 years of our independence _ An Introspection", aims at, "examining critically whatever went wrong with policing". The seminar will also touch upon key areas like social justice, corruption, insurgency and the issue of human rights.
Various social scientists, academicians and representatives of the judiciary, police, labour organisations and the military are expected to participate in the seminar, police sources said.
