The tussle between Shiv Sena MP Sanjay Nirupam and Disinvestment Minister Arun Shourie over the sale of Mumbai-based Centaur Hotel took a turn for the worse today, as the Sena member threatened to move a privilege motion against the minister in Rajya Sabha.Nirupam asked Shourie to ‘‘apologise’’ for having ‘‘accused him (Nirupam) of misleading the House’’ during Wednesday’s debate on divestment. Nirupam quoting from documents of the Disinvestment and Civil Aviation Ministries had alleged ‘‘bunglings and corruption’’ in the sale of the hotel.‘‘The minister says I am misleading the House. I am, therefore, tabling in the house, documents substantiating my charges of corruption in Centaur disinvestment, copies of which I have already sent to the Prime Minister,’’ Nirupam said during Zero Hour.Deputy Chairperson Najma Hepthullah asked Nirupam to submit all authenticated copies of the official documents he had quoted during the debate. She warned Nirupam that action would be taken against him if the documents were found to be incorrect. The chair will rule on the issue on Monday.
