The tussle over transfer of power in Karnataka continued with BJP pressing its claim for Chief Ministership and the JD(S) giving no indication that it would keep its commitment. There was no indication from the BJP whether its controversial Tourism Minister B Sriramulu, who caused the latest problem in the coalition by filing murder charge against Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy, will resign to sort out the current crisis. The BJP dispatched senior leader Yashwant Sinha for possible discussions with the JD(S) leadership in a bid cool down tempers and bring about a solution.B S Yediyurappa, Deputy Chief Minister and BJP's Chief Ministerial candidate in the event of transfer of power on October 3 as agreed upon 20 months ago, said he expected the JD(S) to ‘reciprocate’ his party's gesture of support."In the last 20 months my party and I have extended fullest cooperation to Kumaraswamy. I hope the same gesture would be shown to me in the coming 20 months," he said adding he would meet Gowda and Kumaraswamy on Sunday to iron out differences."I am optimistic that Kumaraswamy will keep his promise," Yediyurappa said.Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy, however, expressed his annoyance with BJP for not taking any action against its representative and Tourism Minister B Sriramulu filing a complaint of attempt to murder against him, an issue on which the government appears to have been pushed to the brink."I know what decision I should take on that day (Oct 3)," Kumaraswamy said but added ‘the BJP leaders are not behaving in a responsible manner even after the (Sriramulu) incident came to their notice’.The grave charges levelled by Sriramulu was a gift to him for cooperating with the BJP in the 20 months, an angry Kumaraswamy said adding, ‘this incident will remain ever embedded in my mind’.
