NEW DELHI, Oct 3: Two top executives of the urea scam-tainted Turkish firm, Karsan Limited, Tunkay Alancus and Cihan Caranci, who were extradited last week by the Swiss authorities, are being brought here tonight.A two-member special Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) team, which had gone to Geneva to fetch the duo, is returning tonight, CBI sources said adding that the officials would be produced before a city court tomorrow. The extradition of executives to India became certain with the the Swiss Federal Court rejecting their pleas against the move last week. Alancus, chairman and managing director, and Caranci, vice-president of the Turkish trading company, were in police custody in Geneva since September 16 last year on a request from CBI and a consequent Interpol alert. The two officials had opposed the CBI plea on their extradition at every stage, citing poor conditions in Indian jails and raising the issue of human rights. The duo have been accused of defrauding the public sector National Fertilizer Limited of an amount of 37.62 million dollars, which was allegedly remitted as an advance for import of urea.
