NEW DELHI, Aug 4: India and China today exchanged information about progress in the implementation of mutually agreed confidence building measures along the Line of Actual Control (LAC) on the Sino-Indian border.

A close scrutiny of the confidence building measures was undertaken when the joint working group which resumed its tenth session here for a comprehensive review of the vexed border dispute between the two countries, official sources said here.

The Indian delegation was headed by the Foreign Secretary, K Raghunath and the Chinese team was led by the Vice-Foreign Minister, Tang Jiaxuan. Also present were senior defence personnel from the two sides.

Agreed minutes of the two-day meeting of the joint working group on border dispute will be signed tomorrow, the sources said.

The confidence building measures in military field pertaining to reduction in all forms of troops along the LACl were agreed to between the two countries as a first step towards finding a mutually acceptable solution.
