JALANDHAR, Jan 17: The Punjab Travel Agents Association has appealed to the government to declare the travel agents as an industry and urged the Punjab government to develop an international airport at Amritsar.

Talking to reporters here, association president S.K. Chopra said the association would shortly present a proposal to the state government for promoting tourism in Punjab during this year of tercentenary celebrations of the birth of Khalsa. He said the event could be promoted globally to promote India’s rich cultural and spiritual heritage.
