The US Army is to use specially-trained dolphins from San Diego, California to help divers ensure the coastline is free of mines and explosives before humanitarian aid shipments can dock.

US Navy Captain Mike Tillotson said: ‘‘They (dolphins) were flown over on a military animal transporter in fleece-lined slings,’’ Tillotson said.
