SURAT, July 21: Town Planning Committee (TPC) Chairman Arvind Rana has urged Chief Minister Keshubhai Patel to take action against Surat Municipal Commissioner S Jagadeesan for not co-operating with the elected wing.In a letter to the chief minister, he alleged that the civic chief was not providing information to the elected wing. ``Jagadeesan has been talking about transparency in administration, but he is behaving like an autocrat'', Rana alleged.He said, on Saturday, after a meeting, he had sought a file from officials as he needed some information about Town Planning Scheme No 36 in Althan area. He said the concerned official did not turn up till 4 pm. Later in the mayor's chamber, town planner Ketan Patel, who was asked to bring the file, reportedly said in the presence of the mayor, the deputy mayor, the standing committee chairman that the commissioner had instructed them not to show any plans (projects) to the town planning committee chairman.According to Rana, when he contacted Director of Planning R D Desai, Desai said all plans were with the commissioner.Copies of the letter have been sent to Urban Development Minister Kaushik Patel and Chief Secretary L N S Mukundan.
