Prominent youngsters Eric Fernandes, schoolboy Aditya Mahagaonkar, collegian Neville Irani and 43-year-old winner of the veterans title, Prakash Kelkar, made fluent entries into the fourth round of the men’s singles.

The men’s seeds rested today ahead of tomorrow’s action that will also see the sub-junior boys and girls titles being decided.

Torgalkar’s pronounced top-spin and efficient blocking held him in good stead after being behind. After floundering 14-21 in the opening game, Torgalkar, who had registered five successive cadet titles before being stopped by Rohan Chinchwadkar on Sunday, bounced backto take the next three games at 21-17, 21-18, 21-18.

It appears business as usual for this season’s all-conquering sub-junior Ankur Mahajan, who kept on course for a tenth-successive title this season with a 21-13, 23-21, 21-13 victory over Omkar Tanksale in another boys sub-junior quarter.
