Chennai, Jaunary 23: The Tamil Nadu Cricket Association (TNCA), which would be hosting the NKP Salve Challenger Trophy here from February 12 to 16, has sought the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI)’s permission to hold it as day matches, instead of day-night as stipulated by the BCCI.

TNCA secretary Ashok Khumbat, who attended the working committee meeting of the Board at New Delhi on Monday, had informed BCCI secretary JY Lele that due to repair of the lights in one of the four towers at the Chepauk Stadium and due to maintenance, it was not possible to conduct day-night matches. ‘‘Lele would be conveying the BCCI’s decision to me soon’’, he said.
