TN strike: Probe over, verdict by November 10

The panel of three former judges of the Madras High Court today completed its two-month long inquiry and reserved orders on the representations given by Tamil Nadu government employees and teachers who were either dismissed or suspended under ESMA, for participating in the strike launched in July.

The panel would submit its verdict on a case-by-case basis by November 10. A copy of the verdict would also be forwarded to the employees concerned. Earlier, the Supreme Court had held that if any employee was dissatisfied with the panel’s findings he could move the high court.
