CHENNAI, January 6: The women’s wing of Tamil Maanila Congress (TMC) will conduct a door-to-door campaign and will appeal to the public to seek promise from Lok Sabha candidates to pass the Bill on 33 per cent reservation for women in Lok Sabha and Assemblies.
A resolution in this regard was adopted at the first meeting of governing body of TMC women’s wing held yesterday at Sathyamurthy Bhavan.
Speaking to media persons, chairperson of the governing body and Union Minister of State for Civil Aviation, Jayanthi Natarajan said that as about 50 per cent of electorate are women in the TNu, it was high time to demand due representation and fulfillment of women rights from policy makers.
