With the Premier Hockey League (PHL) having reached the halfway stage, captains of the several teams expressed their views in a conclave here. Many views and predictions came out. We present a few:

Dilip Tirkey (Hyderabad Sultans): “The top three teams most likely to be title contenders are Chandigarh Dynamos, Maratha Warriors and Bangalore Lions. We played badly this year. Our foreign players have not been able to gel with the team, (Shakeel) Abbasi and (Jorge) Lombi have not settled well. But we have not been playing to the best of our abilities either.”

Gagan Ajit Singh (Sher-e-Jalandhar): [runners-up last year, now in relegation zone] “We have not been able to score, there are just too many misses and I myself have not been 100 per cent fit myself. But there is still time.”

Rajpal Singh (Chandigarh Dynamos): “[An impressive team] “I am really thrilled with the way we played. Even after a bad performance vs Warriors, we still won the match 2-0.”

Viren Rasquinha (Maratha Warriors): “Looking ahead to the game vs Dynamos. This time defeat could be on their minds.”

Arjun Halappa (Bangalore Lions): “Some decisions didn’t go our way. Third umpire should be used if the facility is available.”
