Three youths arrested for kidnapping Jalandhar boy

Three youths were today arrested for kidnapping four-year-old Arshnoor, son of an NRI.

Three youths were today arrested for kidnapping four-year-old Arshnoor, son of an NRI.

The arrested include Mohit Puri, who is in his twenties, Vinod Kumar, 25, and Gaurav Singla, 24. Mohit belongs to a well-to-do family; his father is a charted accountant and elder brother an MBA. Mohit has a shady past. He had spent four months in jail for stealing gold ornaments of his aunt, and was disowned by his family.

Vinod got married eight months ago and used to prepare billboards and posters, while Gaurav ran a video parlour close to the house of Arshnoor.

Gaurav, who knew the family of the child, masterminded the abduction. He also kept kidnappers informed about the moves of the family. The accused were arrested from near Pathankot Chowk.

Notably, two motorcycle-borne youths had abducted Arshnoor on Monday and yesterday left him in a park.
