
SURAT, May 11: Three persons, including a 14-year old girl have been reported missing from the city in the past 24 hours, police cases registered on Tuesday said.
Jyoti Mohan Rathod, a 14-year old girl, has been missing from her house located at Swaminarayan Ni Wadi, Rughnathpura, since April 28. Lila Rathod, her mother, told the Mahidharpura police on Tuesday that the girl informed her parents that she was going to the house of her friend Lata Vinod Chaudhary located at Limbayat and has not returned since. The family launched a search before reporting the matter to the police. When last seen, Jyoti was reportedly wearing a green punjabi dress. She is darkish and five feet tall, the police said.
In another case registered at the Salabatpura police station, a courier man, Prakash Hanuman Silu, is reported missing since Monday evening. Silu had gone to Original Couriers located at Agrasen Market, Ring Road, to collect letters and has not returned since. The youth was wearing a white shirt and blue jeans when last seen.
Mukesh Gulab Shinde, from Indiranagar slum, A K Road, told the Katargam police in his complaint that his father Gulab Limba Shinde 50 has been missing since April 28. According to the complainant, Gulab Shinde, who stayed with him and worked as a mason, informed him that he was going for some work to Varachha but did not return.
The police have registered non-cognisable offences in the respective stations and are investigating further.
