This year, eyeballs rolled as Bollywood stars walked the ramp and delivered a fashion diktat

When Akshay Kumar wrapped the whole nine yards on his head, and made Snoop Doggy Dog wear one too, turbans became a fashion statement overnight. Despite a debut disaster, Sonam Kapoor’s little catwalk’s made her a star. Post Rock On, the pop grunge look rocked, headbangers got their due and before you know, everyone was a rockstar! Bipasha’s short blunts was an instant hit, while John’s got many slipping on the very ‘hot pants’. With Saif Ali Khan flaunting a Kareena in Devanagri script, tattoos needled their way in, so did their couplicious title – Saifeena. Bollywood got more fashionable with their very own desi version of Brangelina! But sad news for Kareena, size zero is so out of fashion. Fit with washboard abs is in. We all counted on Minissha Lamba! Which reminds us of how all the A-list heroines made a tsunami of a wave with their bikini act – remember Priyanka’s flash of gold in Dostana! Meanwhile, the fashion weeks saw the stars setting the ramp of fire. Designers had Madhur Bhandarkar’s Fashion and Sorry Bhai’s team walking and talking the designs and their films. To count some more: Deepika Padukone, Minissha Lamba, Sameera Reddy, Riya Sen, Shilpa Shetty, Shahid Kapoor, Raima Sen et al made eyeballs roll. Another hottie who made heads turn was Shruti Hassan, musician daughter of actors Kamal Hassan and Sarika. When it comes to fashion, Bollywood always calls the shots!
