Chandigarh, March 19: For those who believe remnants of bills and posters stuck to walls all around the place are visual irritants, city based photographer Vijay Ozo has a different perspective to offer.

Ozo has marvelously used the camera to create a series of extraordinary graphic and pictorial images, which he decided to call quot;Billscapes8221; using the very visual irritants as his subject. In all, 43 works by the artist are on display at the Fine Arts Museum at the Punjab University. Ozo who has exhibited his works several times in the city apart from other places, admits that billscapes is different from his other works.

The manner in which people tear away bills glued to walls, seen through Ozo8217;s lens, sometimes resembles the strokes of a painter8217;s brush, a collage or a graphic artist8217;s creations 8230;and much more.

Most pictures were clicked exactly about an year ago when campaigning for the elections was at its peak and there were posters all around. 8220;Sometimes we see certain things so often that they become a routine, it never strikes us even as artists that they contain immense possibilities,8221; Ozo remarked. It is such possibilities that Ozo has discovered and successfully reproduced.
