CHANDIGARH, Nov 8: Navneet Thapar’s fluent knock of 71 set up Youth Club’s convincing 111-run win over Vampire XI in the Gursagar Cup cricket tournament here at the Gursagar ground today.
Proppeed up by his knock, Youth Club totalled 196 for 9 in the allotted 35 overs. Vikrant Gupta (26), Preet Mohan Singh (25) and Inderjeet (20) were the other contributors to the team score.
H S Sodhi claimed three wickets giving away 51 runs.
The Vampire batsmen came a cropper in reply. They were shot out for 85 as the Youth Club seamers Rakesh (3 for 30) and Inderjeet (4 for 14) ran amock.

Tari Club triumph
Tari Club beat LIC XI by 30 runs to win the Paradise Cup cricket tournament at Panchkula today. Tari Club scored 119 and then bundled out their opponents for 89.
