THANE, Sept 12: In the wake of the Thane District Court rejecting his anticipatory bail application in a harassment case filed by his wife, the 30-year-old Atlanta-based engineer has fled the city with his aged parents fled the city.

The Thane Police is on the look out for Prashant Ramakant Wadhivkar, the engineer, his father Ramakant Bhikaji Wadhivkar and mother Sulbha in an harassment case by Prashant’s wife.

Thane Additional Sessions Judge B N Sardesh Pande rejected the bail plea of Prashant and his parents in the case.

The anticipatory bail application has arisen out of a complaint filed by the wife of the applicant, Archana Wadhivkar. In her complaint, Archana alleged harassment by her husband and in-laws for money. Prashant even threatened her with a divorce. They duo have a child. The in-laws prevented Archana from going to Atlanta to join her husband.

On return, Prashant made an unsuccessful attempt to snatch the kid from the mother at the airport. A policeman interfered and restored the childto Archana.

In this connection, the Thane Nagar Police registered an offence based on a complaint by Archana and started investigations into the allegations.In her affidavit, Archana told the court that the gold and silver ornaments which were given to her at the time of marriage were now with her mother-in-law and she is not returning the same. In their application for anticipatory bail, the Wadhvikars told the court that they hailed from a respectable family and the complainant had falsely involved them in the present case only to harass them.
