Thakur men spell trouble for him in BJP

Embarrassed over protests by supporters of former Health minister C.P. Thakur outside the party office at Patna over his removal, the BJP high command may take disciplinary action against him. Sources indicated that the leadership had taken a grim view of the goings-on. The high command had been particularly offended by the attempt to give the whole episode a caste colour.

Fearing action, Thakur appealed to his supporters to shun violence. He said in a statement here today: ‘‘The dissatisfaction that has arisen …should not be converted into violent and unpleasant incidents. We all should do politics respectfully and peacefully.’’
