SANGLI, Sept 20: Even after four days, tension still prevails in Borgaon with various party leaders visiting their own community leaders and assuring support against other community.
Dalit Mahasangh has organised agitations in the district and their leaders are seeking severe punishment for “wrongdoers.” Its State unit chief Machindra Sakte said guardian minister Anna Dange should undertake the responsibility of the incident and resign from the ministry. Maratha Mahasangh leader and MLA Vinayak Mate said that only one community should not be held responsible for the incident. Over 50 persons from Maratha community have been arrested and if there are more arrests, the Maratha Maha Sangh will agitate. He alleged that people who are not responsible have been made accused.
Meanwhile, schedule caste and tribe commission chief H Hanumantappa visited the village today. Talking to reporters in Sangli, he held the police responsible for the Borgaon incident. “The law and order situation in the village was not good at the time of incident.
