Gudgudee adopts Carry On Doctor format
Gudgudee, Ajai Sinha’s comedy on Zee, will have a Carry On Doctor-like story track formatted into it. These episodes will be aired from August onwards and are shot at Sancheti Hospital, Pune. Director Ajai Sinha said the new track will lend variety and freshness to the series. “Generally comedy serials tend to get stale because they are shot in singular locations. By adding this track we will lend a variety to the location and the plot," he said.
In keeping with his new outdoor policy, the last few episodes were shot at Mahabaleshwar, and a few upcoming episodes would be shot in Ahmedabad. Moreover, the serial has been granted a 52-week extension by Zee TV.
Filmi chakkar
Here’s a small question: how many of you have seen film stars speaking on television about a serial or asking you to watch a show? Impossible you think? It’s actually happening.
In the promos of Professor Pyarelal which starts on August 12, Govinda, Sunil Shetty, Johny Lever, Urmila Matondkar ask you to watch the show which is a sitcom with Ashok Saraf as the absent-minded professor. We’ll tell you why: because it’s being produced by Rajeev Tandon and wife Rakhi (who also acts in it). And Rajeev as you by now must very well know, happens to be Bollywood actress Raveena Tandon’s brother! Simple! Another small question: why isn’t Raveena promoting her brother’s work?
Yadav Aala
Raghuvir Yadav, the brilliant actor that he is, has hit the headlines. He is planning two music albums — seriously. You sure didn’t know it, but the jingle of the Pepsi ad which goes `Sachin Aala Re Aala was sung by him. Another reason for the limelight, is that he’s returning to the stage after nine years with a play called Hu Ha Hee produced by Parita Mushro and directed by Salim Akhtar. It’s a play about the life of a person who is not considered normal in society and is being supported by Dilkhush School of the Mentally Challenged. And if you have been watching his performances in serials such as Mungerilal Ke Haseen Sapne and the recent award-winning film Shaheed-E-Mohabbat, then this play is just for you.
