TATA Engineering on Monday said its domestic sales have surged by 34.6 per cent in October 2002 to 18,837 vehicles from 13,996 vehicles a year earlier. Commercial vehicle sales jumped by 41.8 per cent to 9,914 units while that of passenger vehicles increased by 28 per cent to 8,923 vehicles during the month. For the first seven months this fiscal, total vehicle sales increased by 26.8 per cent to 1,11,044 units over 87,598 units sold a year ago, a company release said here. Sales of ‘Indica’ went up by 35 per cent in October 2002 to 7,192 units and by 29 per cent at 42,270 units for the first seven months this fiscal.
