Hyderabad opener Ravi Teja scored his maiden century but Punjab managed a draw on the fourth and final day of the Ranji Trophy Super League cricket tie at PCA Stadium here today.
Hyderabad scored 379 and 276 while Punjab were 356 and 75 for 4 in 28 overs in the second round match. Resuming at an overnight total of 85/2, Hyderabad were bowled out as Sarabjit Lodda claimed four wickets and Manpreet Goni and Birinder Singh took two each.
Teja, who resumed his innings today at 61, batted patiently and his knock of 111 had 14 fours. Amol Shinde also hit a patient knock of 48, but skipper VVS Laxman scored just 26. Laxman, who had some back discomfort, had not come on to the field earlier and played down the order. Chasing the massive target, Punjab lost four wickets quickly on just 63. Hyderabad got three points while Punjab earned one.
