PUNE, Oct 20: Teachers stepped out of classrooms today and marched from Shaniwarwada to the Collectorate, demanding implementation of the revised pay scales recommended by the University Grants Commission (UGC).
An indefinite state-wide teachers strike will be launched from December 8, if their demands are not met, announced the Poona University Teachers Association (PUTA), the Poona University and College Teachers Organisation (PUCTO) and the Poona University Teachers Forum (PUTF) which participated in the demonstration, called by the Maharashtra Federation of University and College Teachers Organisation (MFUCTO) all over the State today.
