DHAKA, Oct 19: Facing an arrest warrant issued by a local magistrate court in a revived case of blasphemy, feminist writer Taslima Nasreen is preparing to seek anticipatory bail in a higher court in Dhaka, her father Rajab Ali said today.``We have given yesterday all the necessary papers from our side to the lawyers attached to the legal firm of eminent lawyer Kamal Hossain who is looking after the case filed against Taslima. We are now awaiting the arrival of Hossain to move the higher court in this regard,'' Ali said.Taslima's chief lawyer, Hossain who was foreign minister in the post-independence Awami League government is now away from Dhaka and is due to return here tomorrow. The higher courts reopened on October 18 after autumn vacation. The country's only tabloid daily Manabjameen quoting lawyer of Taslima today said she would not present herself in the court on November three when the case is posted for hearing and instead seek anticipatory bail in a higher court. There was nopractice of seeking anticipatory bail in the case of a fugitive under Bangladeshi legal system. However, her lawyer said she is not a fugitive in the real sense of the term. ``She has to leave the country in 1994 under unusual circumstances when she faced death threats and her life is still under threat,'' he said.
