JAN 18: Rathikant Basu-promoted TARA Punjabi channel has given a 14-hour slot for telecast of Gurbani to Sagar TV in a bid to woo the audiences. According to the deal, Sagar TV will supply the content free of cost and its logo will appear during the Gurbani telecast on TARA.

"We are discussing with Sagar TV whether we should go in for a dual logo", said TARA Punjabi CEO Kishwar Ahluwalia. TARA Punjabi will air Gurbani from 2 am to 2 pm and then from 5 pm to 7 pm. "We have an exclusive arrangement for one year with Sagar TV to telecast the Gurbani and we have been promised recordings from across the world," Ms Ahluwalia said.

TARA Punjabi plans to telecast Gurbani live as soon as it starts uplinking from India to win audiences from across the globe. "This telecast will open a lot a avenues for us. We are planning to take all our programmes to the US and Canada shortly," said Ahluwalia. The channel, which has six hours of original programming every day, is planning to do away with repeat shows. "We are rescheduling our programmes following this agreement, and we will also increase the volume of original programmes soon," Ahluwalia said.
