Vyas said the NCW was taking measures to curb the problem of domestic violence against women under the Domestic Violence Protection Act.

Under the Act, the action is started within three days of filing the case and justice is dispensed within three months.

She said the Act is not against the men but it has been envisaged to ensure security to the women and to restrict the men’s excesses against women with the help of NGOs, protection officers and service providers.

Vyas said steps have also been taken to stop the misuse of the Act at any level.
