COIMBATORE, OCT 30: One person, said to be an aide of forest brigand Veerappan, was nabbed at Kemmanaickenpalayam in Sathyamangalam forest range early on Monday, Forest Department sources said here.
According to the sources, a dead peacock and a countrymade rifle were seized from him by the forest officials, who were on morning rounds in the area.
The arrested, identified as `Thuppakki’ Rangan alias Rangaswamy, was reportedly supplying food to Veerappan besides passing on information to him about the movement of government officials, the sources said.
He was produced before Sathymangalam magistrate court and remanded to 15 days custody, they added.
