BJP on Monday sought to defend its decision to admit controversial MP D.P. Yadav into the party, saying it does not get influenced by individuals and that ‘‘it is a mass-based cadre party’’. ‘‘The BJP is an ocean and all kinds of rivers flow into it but these do not affect the ocean’s cleanliness,’’ Parliamentary Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj said here. She added that the individuals join the party knowing fully well its ideology, and their joining the party does not influence it. — (PTI)
