SURAT, APRIL 14: The Surat wing of the National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT), Gandhinagar will start functioning from May 9, Union Textile Minister Kashiram Rana announced here on Tuesday.
Addressing a press conference, Rana said the Surat wing provide international-level training to local youths in different disciplines of garment industry, including fashion designing and garment manufacturing technology.
The Sarvajanik Education Society has joined hands with NIFT Gandhinagar to offer two professional educational programmes at Sarvajanik Engineering College building, MTB college compound.
Rana said the city centre will give a boost to the textile industry in Surat by providing the much-needed value addition to Surat textile industries and help it to compete in the global garment industry.
