MOGA, Jan 6: Union Minister of State for Industries Sukhbir Singh Badal today denied that Baba Farid Medical University was being shifted from Faridkot and asserted that there was no truth in such reports.
Sukhbir Singh Badal, while talking to mediapersons at Faridkot said that a meeting of a high-level committee regarding the medical university will be held at Faridkot on January 27 to review the progress of the works undertaken and also to take effective steps for speedy construction of the university.
He said that the Punjab Government has also decided to allocate adequate funds for the Guru Gobind Singh Medical College at Faridkot.
BHAGSAR (Muktsar): The Atal Behari Vajpayee government was under no threat, said Sukhbir Singh Badal, while taking to media persons at Bhagsar near Muktsar yesterday. He asserted that there was absolutely no danger to the SAD-BJP government in Punjab either. He refused to comment on the on-going feud betweenBadal and Tohra. While addressing a gathering from various villages including Mahabadar, Arniwala and Bhagsar at village Bhagsar after inaugurating the new gates (costing Rs. 18 lakh) of the Bhagsar-Iriniwala minor last evening, the Unio Minister said the increased water capacity would benefit 25 villages of Muktsar, covering an area of 60,000 acres. Sukhbir criticised Congress leader Jagmeet Singh Brar for objecting to development works carried out by the state government in this water-logged belt.
Faridkot: Sukhbir Singh Badal said that the state government was facing no financial crisis but admitted to lack of planning.
While addressing another public gathering at Mahmuana village, about 6 km from here, he said that the government had chalked out an elaborate plan to improve medical and drinking water facilities.
