SURAT, Nov 24: The city unit of the Socialist Unity Centre of India (SUCI) has organised a cycle rally in the city on Wednesday as a mark of protest against rise in prices of essential goods.
Starting from Udhna Darwaja at 10 am, the cyclists will pass through Ring Road, Delhi Gate, Bhagal Chowk and Makkai Pool, before submitting a memorandum to the collector in the afternoon.
Rambharat Maurya, president of the city unit of SUCI, claimed in a statement that while the government was boasting of making technological advances, the basic requirements of the poor were not being met. In addition, was the burden of price rise, he added.
SUCI has urged the people to take part in the rally as the issue of price rise concerned all citizens.
