Students’ welfare body holds festival

CHANDIGARH, NOV 18: The Students’ Welfare Association of Tagore Niketan College for Girls, Sector 27, organised the 27th Youth Festival at Lions Bhawan.

Children from 16 schools participated in the declamation contest held in the first session. Shishu Niketan School, Sector 22, bagged the running trophy, while Anu Brar and Simranjeet won first and second prizes, respectively. In second session, 12 colleges participated.The running trophy in declamation contest went to Government College for Girls, Sector 11. In the individual category, Ruby (GCG, Sector 11) and Ginni (Govt College-42) bagged prize and second positions respectively. In poetry recitation, MCM DAV-36, won running trophy; while Ruby (GCG-11) and Navjot (MCM-36) were first and second in individual category.

The host team participated in all the events but did not compete in the contests.
