VADODARA, Sept 17: Students’ Union elections in the MS University, which were to be held before the present term ended, have been postponed till December in view of the ATKT examinations to be held in October.

According to Vice-Chancellor of the university Anil Kane, it was decided to postpone the elections after the deans and other university authorities reached at a unanimous decision in a meeting.

But examinations would be held as per the schedule, he added. “Examinations are more important than elections and we also have to consider all the memoranda submitted by the students in the past few days,” said Kane.

University authorities had also decided to cut down on Diwali vacations as declared earlier, he said. Meanwhile, resignations of the principal and the vice-principal of the Polytechnic College have not been accepted by the administrative authorities of the university.

According to Kane, the issues pointed out by the principal could be solved even without him submitting the resignation letter.
