MUMBAI, June 9: The Bombay High Court today extended the stay on Assistant inspector general of police Y P Singh's transfer upto June 23.The state government was directed by the division bench of Justice A V Sawant and J A Patil to file a detailed affidavit before June 23. The court expressed no view on the merits of the case today.The state government, additional chief secretary, director general of police and the deputy chief minister, Gopinath Munde, were represented by Advocate General C J Sawant and Vikram Pai. CBI Director Joginder Singh and the DIG, CBI, Krishipal Raghuvanshi have also been made parties to the petition. They were represented by Vinay Masurkar. Singh moved HC after the Central Administrative Tribunal (CAT) dismissed his plea against his transfer to Nagpur as Commandant of State Reserve Police. He claimed that he was transferred because he was handling corruption case against Afzalpurkar and had opposed transfers of police officers when he was Additional DIG attached to the establishment department of DIG, Bombay. Singh's plea came up in the HC on June 6 and was posted for hearing today. Singh appeared in person.Meanwhile, Singh has also challenged his repatriation to the state cadre as additional DIG in 1996. After he joined as Additional DIG, he was posted to CBI. He was repatriated in 1996. This plea is yet to come up before CAT.
