Two wanted insurgents held
AGARTALA: Two insurgents of the banned National Liberation Front of Tripura NLFT, carrying a cash award of Rs 50,000, have been arrested from Deo Reserve Forest area in Dhalai district, police said today. Acting on a tip off, the police raided the reserve forest and nabbed them yesterday. The ultras were involved in killing, kidnapping and looting, the police said. The Government had on Thursday announced cash award of Rs 50,000 each for 26 hard-core insurgents and the arrested were in that list.

OBC women mayors of Jaipur, Kota
JAIPUR: Only women candidates belonging to Other Backward Classes OBC will be eligible for mayors in Jaipur and Kota municipal corporations, a notification issued by the Rajasthan Government said. The notification was issued after a draw of lottery for reserving posts of chairpersons in all the 183 municipal bodies in the State here yesterday, an official release said today. The mayoral seat of the Jodhpur municipalcorporation, however, remained open for general category candidates.

Naxals murder police patil
NAGPUR:
A GROUP of naxalites shot dead a police patil at Tekla village in Gadchiroli district on Thursday night, police here today said. The patil, Tania Masadurva 45, was suspected to be a police informer by the naxals. The brother of deceased is a policeman in the district.The naxals had earlier allegedly threatened Talia to ask his brother to give up the job. They then went to the farm where he was sleeping with his family and pumped bullets in his chest.
