NAGPUR, JULY 21: The 29th State sub-junior cum Vidarbha scholarship championships for Dr Kusum Wankar trophy will be held here from August 2-6 6 at Vijayashree Hall.

According to the Vidarbha Chess Association release, the event will be open to all Maharashtra players born after January 1, 1985. Entries will be accepted till July 31. There will be two rounds played per day in a FIDE Swiss league meet of nine rounds modified in time schedule. All unfinished games will be played in sudden finish system of 15 minutes each.

Visiting players will be provided free lodging, informs VCA.

The Vidarbha players winning the top four positions will be awarded a scholarship. The amount is Rs 500 for boys and Rs 300 for girls. A school fielding four players and having the best performance will get chess mate award.
