SATARA, Nov 1: Kanta Nalvade, chairperson, Maharashtra State Social Wealfare Advisory Board (MSSWAB) addressing a press conference in Satara recently said, the board is planning to give subsidies to the non-government organisations (NGOs) in the district for the children and women welfare work. She urged NGOs in the district to approach MSSWAB office in Satara for the details.Informing that the board gave subsidies to 110 NGOs in the State she pointed out that a very few institutions from Western Maharashtra came forward for the subsidy. Satara is made as divisional head quarters in the western Maharashtra. A meet was organised to discuss the child welfare and women training programmes. The meeting was presided over by Nalvade.The MSSWAB if founded by Central and State governments to conduct educational programmes for women at primary, middle and high school level and also vocational training courses conducted by the board to provide skill to woman for eligible employment and self employment, Mrs. Nalvade informed.Satara is the birth place of late Mahatma Phule'e wife, Savitribai Phule who advocated women education centuries ago, Nalvade urged the women in the district to approach the board for their difficulties in marriage, education and other problems. She informed that a marriage counselling cell would be opened in the colleges to help the youths. She said the child care institutions were to be opened in the rural areas to look after the agriculture labourers children.Those who engaged the farm works stop the school education of their daughters and engage them to look after younger children in family. The child rural child care institutions will help the needy farm labourers. Board is giving subsidy to such institutions, she informed. Nalvade informed that the NGO's can play important role and change the society by taking advantage of the Government help.
