BJP legislator Madhu Srivastava, who was at the centre of a controversy after Sehrunissa Sheikh and her daughter Zaheera, key witnesses in the Best Bakery case, accused him of threatening her, flew to New Jersey on Saturday night.His wife Savitaben, however, said that Srivastava’s flying visit had nothing to do with the Supreme Court’s observations on the Best Bakery case at all. She said there were a large number of Gujaratis settled in the US and they had been inviting Srivastava for a long time. ‘‘He has gone to the US on an invitation from non-resident Gujaratis and will return after a fortnight’’, she said.
